Literature Text

The sky was grey before today;
I’m writing rhymes in my heart
every time we’re apart,
and don’t you know I love you so,
but my heart won’t stop beating
and these feelings are fleeting.

I wrote a song, played all day long;
I figured out the riff and the tune,
but the chorus, it comes in too soon.
It isn’t right, play through the night’
I’m sitting on big stacks of clichés,
but I just can’t seem to change my ways.

This morning I, I couldn’t fly;
I felt for wings on my back,
but white has faded to black.
I’ll let it show, and so you know:
from my chest I took my love
and set it free like a dove.

I’m ready to go.
[008] is innocence.

I actually wrote this on a whim.. in Chemistry. No wonder I'm not doing so great in there, huh?

ANYWHO.. I could use some critique on this, because it's really sappy and pretty much a cookie-cutter poem, in my opinion.. I'd really like your thoughts though~ Really, really.. >.> Really.
